At Nanking battle, on 12th December in 1937, right before Japanese entered Nanking walled city from south on 13th, Chinese soldiers “barrier troop” who were ordered to shoot anyone escaping, killed the same Chinese soldiers and civilians in a big panic at a north gate, Yijiang Gate. These Chinese soldiers also shot Chinese soldiers and civilians in ships trying to cross a river to north when over crowded people were on the ship desperately trying to escape.
This massacre has been introduced by westerners to mislead people to convince Nanking massacre by Japanese .
One big example is the world first report of Nanking massacre by American journalist, Steel , who together with the case Japanese soldiers jabbing Chinese, described as civilians who in fact might be Chinese soldiers with their uniforms thrown away escaping.
It also appears on John Rabe’s diary on 16 December.
